Is it safe to buy generic memory? I did a search on pricewatch.com and came up with a 512MB PC3200 (Type A) Generic OEM
$65.00
Will this perform the same as for example a crucial memory at 512MB?

I'm using it mostly for gaming also the MB is a Abit NF7 v2.0.

Generic memory is fine, provided you got it from a reliable supplier, and provided you don't require extreme performance. Generic memory is perhaps a few percent slower.
