I have the Soundblaster Live card (just Live, not Live 5.1, not Live value, just Live), and the Lives breakout card that is sold seperately (the Digital I/O module that connects with a ribbon and has an optical input/output, and coaxial input/output).

My question is, how do I setup the card to output Dolby Digital 5.1 sound to my Home theater receiver (that has a decoder). I have an optical cable connected on the output of the I/O module, and connected to optical on my receiver.

I am gonna buy Halo for PC (game) soon, and it supports Dolby Digital.

I run XP. THe original software for the card is not compatible with XP, so I downloaded the drivers from Creative, but no where can I find how to select Dolby Digital output.

I do not have a PC DVD drive.

Can anyone help?
