I require voice recorder:
- to record voice conversations (I don't need very good sound
quality, but clear enough to understand)
- that can be used discretely (i imagine i should be a digital one,
with quite buttons and external microphone)
- which automatically switch off if there is no sound input while in
recording mode and starts recording again when there is sound input
- not too expensive (preferably less than $100)

Please recommend a good value one.
Thank you!

Here's a place to start:

Google "Surveillance Audio" or "Covert Audio". I'll bet
you'll get a few possibilities. Maybe even a visit from some
men in black :-)

Or you could look over these:

I've got one a DDR 3000. Neat little gizmo. About the size
of a pack of gum.

regarding the option ....automatically switch off if there is no sound
input while in recording mode and starts recording again when there is
sound input...do you maybe know if I can set a sound level threshold
myself?
