The game works quite fast atleast on my computer.
It makes moves in 10-20 seconds. While sometimes goes for 1 minute if a
position is quite complex. But it is 100 times better than it used to
be earlier.

1. e4 d5 2. exd5 Qxd5, followed by moving the queen aimlessly around the
board hardly strikes me as an intelligent chess program.

I tried this once on an Athlon XP 2400+. The speed seemed to be similar to
ChessBuddy 1.2, a java game I used to have on my ancient Siemens SL45i cell
phone.
