Forcing Win 7 "upgrade" option.

Win 7 won't start. I need to re-install it but can't lose my 15,000 records. Is there a way to force an "upgrade" installation, from the cmd prompt?

I'm using Win 7 Home Premium.

Upgrade to what ? Professional or Ultimate, yes once you have bought the legal disc with key etc...

You might be able to do a repair install.

Yeah just boot to the win7 disc and select repair.
