My much treasured but incredibly decrepid AKG D12 has a broken plastic
"hoop" ie the black plastic frame that kinda holds it all together. As
a muso asked me "what the hell's THAT" as I was sticking it in a kick
drum the other night (it being a masterpiece of electrical tape repair)
I got to thinking maybe if someone out there has one with dead
electrics, I'd be definately interested in buying it.
cheers

Call AKG and ask if they have a replacement. They actually do have
parts for a lot of mikes from that era.

Let us know if that works! I tried AKG & they said they had no more
parts for that mic. I have the same problem. Apparently the plastic
shrinks & cracks on almost all of them.

Rats.

You can try talking to the guy at odometergears.com. He has a small
desktop vacuum-molding system and is very willing to do runs of five
or six molded plastic pieces. Tell him I sent you.

The part you need is # 1350M1001 for a D12, or 1350M1002 for a D12E . Was
still listed in 2004, but may or may not actually be available.
