I got a 128mb stick of PC133 RAM out of a PC that was being trashed, and stuck it in my wife's old Gateway. The RAM that was already in the Gateway is a 64mb stick of PC100. Everything thing seems to be okay, but is there a problem running these different RAM sticks together?

PC133/100/66 standards are pretty much the same with regards to the design. The only difference is that PC133 is supposed to be using faster chips that can be clocked higher. Since there is no minimum speed these chips will run at, PC133 is downward compatable. All this information is available in the Memory FAQ.

You might actually be better off with 128 megs of 133 MHz RAM than 192 megs of 100MHz RAM. The speed of the RAM can make a pretty big difference.

My OS features preemptive multitasking, a fully interactive command line, & support for 640K of RAM!
