Are GSM normal United Kingdom Sim cards?

... So if I buy a Sidekick from USA will it work with a normal UK Sim?

Is "900/1800/1900 MHZ FREQUENCY. PLEASE DON'T ASK US IF YOUR PHONE WILL WORK WITH YOUR GSM SERVICE PROVIDER IN YOUR COUNTRY" (The UK) Used in the UK?

heya,

If you have an unlocked phone you can take a gsm sim card from any country and put it in there and it should work. Now whats not guaranteed to work is the data features. Also depending on how old that other sim card your putting in is it could not let you use some features on the phone. I have seen where someone put a old USA sim card in an unlocked phone and only been able to make calls. No texting no mms etc...
