I looked through every link I could find. While I easily found links to
sign up to be considered or to be an affiliate advertiser, I never
found a link that mentioned anything to do with getting paid for the
music that would be downloaded.
Q#1: Does apple actually pay out from the money they earn off of the
music I might submit?
my music is on itunes through a distributor. I couldn't tell you
offhand what I get per song, but itunes pays the distributor and the
dist. pays me so yes artists get paid.

Why do you use a distributor for iTunes? iTunes allows you to go
direct, and iTunes media management often prefers it over dealing with a
middle man. Just curious.
I, for one, didn't see anything about getting paid. There was no info
at all about that part of it when I looked. It seems that if you want
anything from your music, you have to go through someone else. That is
why i posted this thread in the first place to see if there was a way
around that. If there is, lets hear about it :-)
