Dual powersupply, how do u do it?

I heard about people using dual power supplies... the question is, how do I do it? the power wont turn on unless i hook it up to a motherboard... I had to ditch a NT300 dollar peice of crap PSU (what can you expect for 10USD?) I bought an aopen powersupply. It cost me 990NT (which is around 30 dollars US) its rated 90 watts and its a hell lot quieter than the peice of crap. I want to use the other power supplies for lights and stuff so that it wont overload the main one... is there a specific pin to short?
