sony vaio pcv rs530g desktop has windows 7 installed. doesnt have sleep/standby mode. Its in the shut down options but its gray, when the other options are in black and I can't select it
Hello NotAgeek_19, The PCVRS530G was released with WinXP in January, 2004. The the necessary ACPI drivers for suspend/hibernate have never made available to be fully supported by Windows Vista or Windows 7 on this model due to it's age. I hope this helps. Thanks, Scott Fuentes
Have you tried installing the chipset drivers (Intel 865PE) in compatibility mode for XP SP2? I have a few aftermarket parts in my RS530g (an HD Radeon 3650 in place of the stock 9200 for instance), but my sleep mode is working fine with the old (ancient, really) chipset drivers!
