Linux on Win 7

Hello,
I would like to be able to run a live distro of Linux on my win 7 laptop. auto boot of the cd or usb seems to be disable. how can I turn them back on?

you would have to change the boot order in your bios, it usually says at startup
"press (some key) to enter bios/setup." from there look for boot disk priority/boot sequence and set usb or cd to the first boot device
