Can I can slow down the rpm of my HD(hard drives). I don't want the HD to run as fast as it can everytime.
Thank you

If you are using the intel chipset, I think by using the intel application accelerator, you can turn on the accustic mode (if your hard drive supports it) for less noise and that would mean slowing it down. I still don't understand why would you want it to run slower???

Or maybe you can shut down the hard drive from your power management so that after certain time period you (you set) didn't use it, it will stop spinning.

hey,
The reason i want to slow down my HD b/c it goes to its maximum speed every time. It doesn't slow down at any given time. Usually i leave my computer on almost 24/7. I have an athlon xp 2500+ (barton).

That being the case, you would want to use your systems power management options to power down your hard drive(s) after a certain amount of idle time.
