Our office has seven HP Vectra VL8 MT 32X,P3, Model D900E PCs up for auction. HP's website has nothing on this model. As near as I can tell, they're 2000 or 2001, running a P3 450 w/18GB HD. Does anyone out there know anything about these puppies? I basically want to use it as a play box for Linux. At $35, why not.

I know enuff to be dangerous.

Not specifically, it is probably a slot 1 440bx motherboard that uses a cheepo pci or agp graphics. The good thing is that system is easly upgradable.

you could get a 1.1ghz tualatin celleron and an upgradeware slot T adapter (check upgraderes web page to make sure your mobo has support for the adapter) for it for 70 bux. Then buy a geforce 4 or radeon 9500 and you could have a pretty fast box.

If it isn't a P6 then it isn't a procesor
