I am looking at getting some different RAM since the ram currently in my system is some old pc2100 ram that doesn't take advantage of my A7N8X-Deluxe. One stick is 512, and the other is 256. I had a couple of questions.

1. Is there a big difference between "twin" ram (i.e. Kingston KHX3200AK2/512 and Corsair TWINX512-3200C2PT ), and two generic sticks of ram, both running at the same speed?

2. Is there much of a performance difference between 512 and 1024? Currently I have 768, but again, it's pc2100, and not taking advantage of the dual-channel mem. interface of the A7N8X. Will two 256's at 3200 run better than my current configuration? Or slower?

Ok, I am not planning on overclocking, and I have an Athlon 2800+.

get a name brand value select memory, pc2700 or 3200 is all that you need, you do not need twin sticks.

By not running dual channel you really are not missing out on much...
