In many websites, like Xbit-Labs or The Inquirer, I saw during the last few weeks articles about Kingston releasing memory specifically for the A64 FX etc. The only thing they could say about this memory was that it was really expensive with slow timings.
After doing a little research today, I found the following in Newegg:
KINGSTON HyperX Series 184-pin 1GB Kit (2x512MB) DDR400 (PC3200) DDR Registered ECC RAM modules, Model# KRX3200K2/1G
Standard 64M X 64 ECC 400MHz 184-pin Registered DIMM
Timings: 3-3-3
Price: $399
CORSAIR MEMORY XMS Extreme Memory Speed Series, Low Latency (Twin Pack) 1GB(2 x 512MB) TwinX1024RE-3200LL .Retail
Tested at ultra-low latency settings (2-3-2-6)
Error Correction (ECC)
Price: $329
The thing is that I never saw anywhere any info about this memory released by Corsair, which in my opinion is in one word .. outstanding. Ultra low timings and low price (only $50 more than the same non-ECC memory they sell for Intel/AMD dual channel memory platforms). I believe with this memory we could really see the A64 FX shine but again, no review sites have used them, or even mentioned them.
Does anyone have any explanation about this? I am quite confused here.
