My computer does not shut down automatically after selecting shut down

in the windows xp pro rather it shows a message that it is safe to

turn off ur comp . So i ve to manually press the power button after

this message.Although in Windows ME i don't encounter this problem.

My pc's spec.
P3 933eb
384 sd ram
Soltec / TRigem comp. Ventura I815 ep mainboard
Pheonix bios rev 1.10
atx mid tower casing 250 watt
ASus V7700 PRO (gf2 mx400)
40 gb seagate HD
52x cd rom
32x cdrw

sounds like acpi isnt enabled in bios, or the board isnt fully acpi compliant - seen this a few times, onyl way round that I've found is to enable it if not enabled, or flash the bios if the current one isnt acpi compliant, either way, never avoided a reinstall :(
