Windows 7 installation Disk

I ordered a new laptop w/Win 7 x64 installed and, like most computers these days, it does not come with a Windows 7 installation disk for restoring the OS; just a restore partition. I often re-format my HDD and like to install the OS 'clean' without having to spend time removing all the bloatware everytime. I guess my question is; am I allowed to get/purchase a win7 installation disk from Microsoft without having to pay full retail for another copy? I already tried through HP (where I bought the laptop), but they didn't offer one. And I couldn't find an answer on the MS site.

  1. in fact, you may be able to call the company you bought it from and request that they send you an OEM disk, they should comply.
  2. As I mentioned, they said no. (HP)
