I just upgraded to windows 7, I installed Visual Studio 2005

I cannot open or run my projects for school. I keep getting an error saying Visual Studio 2005 is not compatible w/win7 I tried to download the service pack and it won't let me. Help.

I'm not familiar with VS2005 - I know VS2008 works fine in Win7, though.

If you have Win7 Pro or Ultimate versions you could download and install the "XP Mode" feature which lets you run programs in an XP virtual machine.

Run it in a VM on XP.

Go here -> http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/vstudio/aa948853.aspx and follow the instructions. You can use VS 2005 under Vista/Windows 7.

Also, be sure you are running as administrator when installing these.
