I have a really big problem on my 2,66 Pentium IV PC. My board is an Abit BD7II Raid, with 512 megs. A month ago I've changed the procesor from 2 (400 FSB) ghz to 2,66 (533 FSB). I run Windos XP with a Terratec DMX Fire 24/96. I use FL STudio as my main music application.
The problem is the audio comes distorted when I listen to any kind of format (wav, mp3) through a music player (Winamp or the MSPlayer). When I start windows the boot sound comes distorted as if it was time streched . This also happens when I listen to music in Winamp. When I open a program (for example Explorer or Mozilla) while listening to music the effect is more obvious and dramatic and it seems all the system slows down. I have the card configured for 16 bit 44.1. I have changed the card to another Pci slot, defragmented the drive, disable the Windows audio alerts, install the latest video drivers, but I am lost and the problem is coming worser. In FL Studio this doesn't happen.
