What about RAID on SATA drives?

I read with great interest the RAID FAQ in this column but I was wandering is those RAID FAQ would apply to SATA drives in the same manner.

Is SATA really faster? read vs write

SATA is faster than paralel ATA, but the current hds are slower than either. SATA is usually faster than pATA because the SATA drives are usually faster (especially the 10,000 rpm WD raptor). The FAQ would apply to SATA in the same manner.
