Pci express standard root port driver install failure

my girlfriend (wife) has a lenovo laptop that is about 7 months old. we got into a fight and i threw the thing and broke it. we just got it back from best buy. the only thing they could find wrong was the hard drive died. it came back like a fresh install of windows 7. we reinstalled office and other drivers and programs.

i am getting a driver error

pci express root port driver failed. in the device manager i can pull up which one that failed but i don't know what device it could be.

device manager says

device type: system devices

manufacturer (standard system devices)

location: pci bus 0, device 8, function 0

This device is not working properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)

i don't know what device it could be or if i just have to find the driver manually.

if it helps i am using the laptop right now. so internet and everything seems to be working. i just don't know if we need to take it back down there (which i have found is a waste of time, i seem to be smarter than those morons).
