Catalyst control problem in 7 and other prob's

I woke up today to all kinds of problems with my laptop. Everything on my desktop is gone except recycle bin. All my favorites are gon in IE. All my libraries are gone, songs, pics ect. and I get an error message that my catalyst control stopped working? I am at a loss and would greatly appreciate any help....

1. Uninstall video drivers
2. Clean registry with CCleaner of all ATI references or use driversweeper
3. Reinstall video drivers.
