Hi all -
I've built my fair share of systems, but I went on hiatus for about a year, and am about to attempt my first dual-channel setup. Will everything I need to know about setting it up come with my mobo, or does anyone know of a place I can go to read up? For background, the specs I'm planning on are:

AthlonXP 3200+
2x512mb Geil DDR, Cas 2
Radeon 9800 Pro 128
DFI Lanparty NFII Ultra mobo
And right now I'm planning on grabbing a Thermaltake 420W PSU of of newegg, all of the reviews are positive.

Thanks for your help all!

If going with a high-end AMD system in that price range, I highly recommend building around the Athlon 64 3200+ processor instead of the Athlon XP 3200+ processor.

For dual-channel with this chipset put one memory module in the memory slot that appears to stand alone and the other memory module in either of the two remaining memory slots.

If you knew the balance of my bank account, you wouldn't suggest that. :p
I have, of course, considered going the 64-bit route, but it is out of my reach financially. In fact, I was going to get a 2800 Barton, but I got the hookup from a buddy of mine, which is the only reason I'm able to get the 3200+. I appreciate the suggestion, though.

I can appreciate that, and I do like the corsair, but not only is Geil cheaper, it is also very reliable - 99% of the reviews for it on newegg.com are positive, and it is CAS-2 ram for under a hundred bucks. Money is tight - I'm saving up for a 9800 Pro or 9700 Pro, but to start off, I'll be using an old 16MB card.

Im running some Geil Golden Dragon really nice ram for the price. As long as you stick to the recommanded timmings and speed, not a single problem.
