Running ASUS A7V266E with RAID 0 with WinME..flawless and easy installation.

However when I try to install XP...I get no fixed drives error and everything stops.
Disable the array and reassemble..format both drive independently (so they are prepared for install without having to format during) give the same result.
The one time I did get it to start installing (no clue what I did or didn't do to make it work) it would not find the RAID drivers off the floppy to install them when it asked for them.

Any ideas?

how did you build the floppy? You must have the entire tree, not just the XP branch.

hit f6 when asked duroing the setup- BUT, I've had probs on 2k when it didnt see the drivers, the drivers on the floppy were in a folder called win2000, copying these to the root of a blank floppy did the trick. What raid controller is it ?

Thanks for the responses folks.

Although I am sure 20 bazillion people will tell me that this could not have possibly been the problem...it was. In the BIOS, I had PLUG AND PLAY OS set to YES since I was previously running WIN ME.
This for some odd reason caused a host of problems trying to install XP in RAID or nonRAID (ATA100) functionality. I reset this to NO and WHAM-O! Everything installed as smooth as silk. Not a hitch.

Technically at that point there was no PnP OS installed so...????

all PnP OS installed BIOS setting means is whether or not to let the OS assign the ACPI IRQ's or the BIOS. Saying NO forces the BIOS to assign the IRQ's
