Just a thought. Have you ever noticed how well auto mufflers work. Do
you think they would be of any use in an air conditioning/ventilation
system in terms of noise suppression?

There are mufflers that are purpose-built for quieting
air-conditioning.

Similar devices are available for air conditioning systems. Check out
the ads in the back of Sound and Vibration magazine.
