bad news?

i have some news... good or bad, i don't know. i know its good for me, but i don't know how it will affect the forum.

i own a few domains so i hope we can do something.
lochel is now a registered corporation and since i got my lead abatement license i also registered poguq as a lead abatement company. the only other one i'm not sure about is shlitzo. now i'm working on my electricians license and i'm not sure if i want to use that, probably not, but since i don't want to have to transfer the site again, its probably better not to use it.

i have scamtron.com available and one other domain i can't remember. i can get the site transferred with minimal down time to either one of those domains. i wish i hadn't lost hinzo.com... that was a good domain too.

i just wanted to give you guys a heads up before i transfer the album to another address.

To me an abatement licence is a person who is a contractor for hire to remove/reduce dangerous materials such as mould, asbestos, radioactive waste etc.

You see I read lead as lead (leed) it's an english language thing.
In Ontario to my knowledge we do not have a special licence for the removal of lead. Except in paint. When removing or sanding surfaces that have lead paint the procedures for the removal of friable asbestos or mould are used.
The removal of lead paint is unusual. It's only found in old buildings. It usually just gets painted over.
Solid lead found in sound proofing or in pipes gets recycled. Car batteries get recycled back into new car batteries

So what do you do? What do you mean by transfer? Pick up from the waste site and deliver the material for reprocessing? I didn't know there were people that just specialized in the transfer of lead. I thought the company or person who removed the lead would be responsible for the transfer, disposal or recycling of the material.

In my trade I do not get involved with lead too often. Mostly with sound proofing and batteries for diesel generators and UPS systems. We have more nickle cadmium batteries at work than lead acid batteries. They seem to last longer. We have some very large NiCad battery arrays at work for UPS systems and diesel generators.

So what you're saying is the THGC Album or basically the current site known as Lochel, will be transfered to scamtron.com?
I don't have a problem with transfering, all that matters is that the new host functions like the old, and I can still login the same as before to the FTP. Just tell me when and how. Do you want me to back up the site too?

oh, there has been a misunderstanding.

i was talking about the site as far as transferring goes. the abatement has to do with lead.


like you said, i'm a contractor. lead abatement is actually a very extensive procedure. different states have different laws though.
