I have a MN700 base staion with a pc wired to it and a
laptop using MN-720 adapter card. Pc is running XP home
and the laptop is running XP pro.
I am having issues where the PC is giving me sporatic
losses of connection to the network and then it
immediatly reconnects. I am not having problems with the
laptop.
I have updated firmware, switched cables, tried different
ports on the base station and uninstalled Norton Internet
Security software with no luck on resloving the issue. I
have worked with MS Support and have tried various
settings in XP. Any thoughts?

Hi,
Are there any 2.4GHz devices in your house such as other wireless 2.4GHz
cordless phones or wireless video transceiver/receivers?
Is your microwave running when you're disconnected as that interferes with
your wireless connection as well.
Try changing your wireless channel and experiment to see if you still get
disconnects.

Try connecting the PC directly to the modem and see if
the same problem occurs. If it does, make sure the
ethernet cable is well connected in the PC, and the
ethernet card is working OK (under Control
Panel/System/Devices). Scan for virus. You may also want
to try with a different cable, if available.
Otherwise, if it works fine with the modem, try using a
different port on the router for the PC. Again make sure
the ethernet cable is well connected on both sides, the
ethernet card is working fine, and no virus.

Check Runtime Code: 02.00.08.0333 Boot Code:
02.00.08.0333 at the home page of management tool. If
cant see these no.s there, update again till they are
seen.
Turn off ICF and ICS on both computers, set LAN lease
time to 2 weeks on lan settings in management tool. Also
get some clues from base station log when this happens.
