Role Play on UO

Hi I've been on Ultima Online for about 6 months or so but although there
seem to be lots of players there doesn't seem to be much in the way of
role playing. Everybody seems to be doing there own thing and there
doesn't seem to be all that much player/player or player/GM interaction.
I recently joined a Neverwinter Nights persistent world 'Layonara' which
is completely different; lots of GM moderated quests some planned some
random, lots of player interaction and more importantly because of this
each character becomes a personality in its own right.

I just wondered if I am missing something on UO or is this the way it is
for everybody?

There are player run communities that role play, but its up to YOU to find
them. EA han never provided any kind of regular GM support for anything
in UO. (Not even if you have "real" problems).

UO may not be the game for you, if your looking for someone else to provide
the entertainment. UO provides only what YOU are willing to put into it.
No one forces you to group, or play alone. No one forces you to "level-up"
just to have fun. You can stay a newbie character forever and still have fun.
It is what YOU make of it, and nothing more.

If your looking for GM's to provide your fun, you better go play some
other game.

Just MHO,

Come on over to siege Perilous. There's more roleplay there than you
can shake a stick at... Also more inflated egos and petty bickering
than any other shard, I'd wager...

Your best bet is to find a RP guild or group. On Europa, I'd suggest
have a look at ERPA ( http://www.erpa.org/uo ) or 'The Crossroads of
Yew' (Sorry, don't know their URL, but google will bring them up).

Thanks I've just been to their site and it looks promising so I'll
probably sign up there as well. Thanks again :)
