I noticed that flat displays are quite common nowadays, most of them on laptops. (Really, you won't find anyone to lug around a whole 25lb CRT along with their 4lb computer.) I happen to have a laptop but plan on switching to a desktop. Is there any way I could use my laptop monitor for my desktop? (I'll be using a Radeon 9600 pro.)
Unless you can find some spec sheets and are willing to do some major surgery, probably not. If you are willing to spend the time researching and taking the laptop appart then it may be possible. You really have to take the beast apart and see how the whole thing is hooked up. For example how many wires does it use to connect to the graphics card, what voltage is used to power the monitor etc...
If it isn't a P6 then it isn't a procesor
