Ground Rod Driver Idea

My question:
I have a hammer drill. I have a 1/2" socket adapter for that hammer drill. I have an Impact Deep Socket set for the adapter. Can I use this to drive a grounding rod? Pretty simple question but I'm a bit worried I could break the socket or socket adapter.

How big of a grounding rod are you driving and how deep? If its a short rod it might work, but if its a large one thats a few feet long you might overstress the driver, its going to have a fair amount of resistance to pushing once it gets deep. Last one i put in we just used a large hammer to pound it in.
