my laptop reads reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key

if not one change the boot order of your laptop hard drive then it sounds like the hard drive failed or the master boot record has an issue. try using http://www.hirensbootcd.org/download/
run smarts and segate and or wd drive tools to see if the drive is ok...
also see if you can see any data on the hard drive if you can try repair the mbr.

I cannot get passed this error message. I can't get to window or even diagnostics to try to fix it.
