Dual Channel DDR advantages vs. Single Channel DDR

I have Soltek Nforce2 MB, Barton 2500+, 1x512mb pc2700 cl2.5 elixir ram.

Am I going to see any improvment if i installed another 512mb ram of the same type so i will utilize the dual channel?

If not then what is the advanage of the dual channel over the single channel

Running dual-channel for this chipset will give about 2-4 percent performance increase over single-channel.

Which Soltek nForce2 board? Just curious, as there are some nForce2 boards that don't feature Dual-Channel.

I am using Soltek 75FRN2-RL and it supports dual channel DDR 400
