I picked up a mint Thorens TD-280 from a still-good shed at the local dump (you
wouldn't believe what shows--I could fill my house with vintage Klipsch
speakers if I wanted to) and it came with an Adcom GFC-1E cartridge. I haven't
been able to find anything on this one. Anyone know if it's halfway decent? It
sounds rather odd and I can't tell if it's the cart or my worn record
collection. Previous table failed a few months ago and they don't share
cartridge types.

Thanks

John

HI, This is not a bad cartridge as to replace the needle would be 43 just for the needle and a new cartridge with needle of a lesser brand would be 23.

This cartridge came in my Harmon Kardon t 20 that my frined gave me along with his vintage klipsh speakers.
So based on the quality of items I got and my friends taste I assume the cartridge is great to

I hope this helps
