i have been trying to solve this prblem for awhile now.whenever i play music or even a game i get the sound to skip.i have a soundblaster live 5.1 running on a winxp os .a asus a7a 266 motherboard 40gb hd 256mb ddr ram 42x cdrom. when i had win98installed the sounds worked fine.i did a clean install of xp and the sounds skip. i updated all the drivers for xp. anyone out there have any idea how i can get this working normal..

this really sucks.i cant figure this out.if i cant get this working i'm gonna go back to win98se.i tried everything i could think of except getting a new sound card and getting rid of xp...oh well ..thats my crazy luck.

are you using via 4in1 drivers or Microdaft's? i'm not too sure but i think via's latest drivers fixed this prob. also check the asus site and check what the latest bios will fix.

Although it has a lot of good ideas, beer doesn't know anything about computers!!!
