the aardvark doesnt use irqs, the windows assigns one, it says in windows sometimes after using cakewalk that no midi
could be found, and in windows it says the device is in use., now how do i free up the irq or keep this from happening?

Try setting "PNP OS" to NO in BIOS, that should allow BIOS to set an IRQ for the card.
