Hi from the Blue Mountains in Australia.
About six years ago I bought a set of Neat Petite speakers from the
British hi-fi company Neat Audio - they're small top-quality speakers
(hand-doped bass-midrange speaker paired with an Emit ribbon tweeter)
which I used to replace my much-loved large freestanding B & W
speakers -- no longer had room for those, much to my daughter's
delight. The Neats sounded wonderful -- powered by my Quad 66/606,
they were my pride and joy, especially since I depend on good sound
for my CD and DVD reviewing.
Sadly, about three months ago I inadvertently blew the voice-coil on
one of my Neat Petite bass/midrange speakers. Contacted Neat in
Britain, seeking to buy a replacement speaker, only to be told that I
couldn't replace one -- the design had been upgraded and both would
have to be replaced. My speakers were out of guarantee, but the
company said the speaker shouldn't have blown - they'd ship a
replacement pair out for free. They arrived today; I've soldered them
in place already, and even before properly run-in, they sound
wonderful -- tight bass and beautifully clear midrange.
Just thought I'd pass this on as an example of great service. Thanks
to Bob at Neat for helping me stay tuned to the best music in the
world in style -- this sort of service is so rare today. I'm truly
grateful.
