I'm wondering about how to get the most out of a hard drive or combination of hard drives. I've seen posts that recommend separating either by partition or physical drives depending on different tasks. I'm wondering what that is all about? Should os and system files be separate from documents and other stored stuff?

Any direction here would be appreciated. I'm thining of getting a 120g ide drive and splitting it up some how or getting two 80g's or some other configuration.

You can partition it any way you choose.
10Gb OS, 20Gb programs the rest games?
As many partitions as you like.
Even a seperate one for the swapfile, though with lots of ram (512mb or better) its really not needed.

I know the way myself.
