Hello,

I did a photo recover. Some of my photos were recovered, but the ones I wanted came out corrupt. Some of them come out really weird, but most of them say "Cannot Open This Filetype" all of the photos are .jpg even the ones the are working. How do I fix this so that I can see all/most of them perfect or near perfectly.

There may not be anything you can do unfortunately because it is truly hit or miss if you are able to recover pictures/data/etc. via 3rd party methods like that unless it is done professionally.

As for being able to restore the files to working condition, I personally have not experienced any success with this and have tried a few things in years past. Starting out with a corrupt file is simply going to give you the same corrupt file right back.

Try Dejpeg the free version works brilliantly, it is only limited by being a 1 file at a time repairer but you can get around that by saving up to 1gb at a time as an iso or img file then recovering that file if your original photo's were on a flash drive create an iso/img of the drive then break that down to 1gb files...... it will also find any thumbnail or temp versions of file if the camera or phone that took them saves these files

Are you recovering the photos from hdd/usb/memory card, or from Recycle bin, or accidentally deleted? Some hard drive failure able to let you recover files but not 100% good, some pictures will have only the top/bottom/side image of the original picture, same as documents. If hard drive failure/crashed, most likely you will see it alot.

You can recovery the files/images but I'm not 100% sure that if you can recovery the raw images on the photos. There are tools you can use for this purpose free/buy

ZAR http://www.z-a-recovery.com/unformat-tutorial.htm
Also, there's Ddrescue (via Knoppix Live CD). This tools very good to recovery data even with damaged hard drive (some professional forensic are using this tools).

hope it helps,
