I'm looking into building a PC and have come across the RAM part of my research. Admittedly it's been a while since i have delved into the computer tech world and now I am playing catch-up. I'm looking to build a SWEET gaming system (2.8 HT 800FSB, Radeon 9800 yada yada) and Ram has really got me tied up.

I don't want to buy a cheapy pair (I'm looking to go dual channel with 2 x 512 PC3200 (or higher) sticks) and be disappointed over $30 (etc.) difference for the good stuff. I'm working with a decent $230 budget and will NOT be OC-ing the system (not one to fiddle with such things as I am obviously not knowledgable enough to do so.) If at all possible I'd like RAM with a heatsink cover (preferably red... but I've never seen it, so this may well be wishful thinking, so not at all important.)

Thanks in advance for any and all help/advice that can be given.

I just purchased and MSI PE865 Neo2 LS board.

I was going to go with the FIS2R board, but decided I wouldn't really benefit from RAID.

It aint RED, but this is prolly the best memory you can buy for your computer. Corsair twinx1024-3200llpro. And it may be out of your budget too.
