hi! i recently bought a wired, fast optical mouse (800 cpi) because i'm tired of cleaning the ball of my previous mouse every now and then. at first, the optical mouse works fine but when i access other devices such dvd or cd rom, it gets disconnected. i have to unplug and plug it in to make it work again. but after a while it will be disconnected again. i experience the same problem whenever i play halo or other fps games. i already replaced my 300 Watts power supply with 450 watts because i thought 300 watt is already inadequate since my computer is fully loaded with so many peripherals. i'm sure there's nothing wrong with the optical mouse because i have tried it in other computers and works fine. need your help badly, thanks.

Sounds sorta like a bad motherboard to me, what are your system specs? Are all of your drivers up to date?

Did you install any drivers that came with the mouse? Logitech has it's mouseman software and microsft has itellemouse software. If those are installed try removing them, you normally don't need them.
