Here I sit in the dark, master and commander of my audio gear, at the helm
of an audio ship cruising in the night, gear ablaze with lights, my left
hand fully submerged in a bucket of chicken fat. I have been wooed by the
subjective and objective listening tests, but one thing tugs at me still
and I will not be won over until either are validated by the chicken fat
listening method. How do I know if the stress without the chicken fat
will not color my experience, how do I know the smooth warm sound now
experienced will not disappear and the realism now evident fade in a fog
of bare handed misdirection, how do I know the lipid feedback from the
sound hitting the fat and into my arm and into my brain will not spoil the
resolution and speed and liquid experience I now enjoy. Until and unless
both approaches to testing are done first with my chicken fat validation
technique, we can not know either is valid, we can not know that either
aren't inherently flawed.
