Display problem

When playing DVDs on my dvd rom drivethe display only seems to show the middle of the picture and not the edges. For example a image of somebodts whole face only shows the nose area. This also applies to .wav and mpegs images. These images are fine on other machines and it doesnt matter what software/programs i use. Can anybody please help me out here

Doesn't sound like it's your DVD-ROM, sounds more like a video card problem to me, or perhaps certain driver/player settings. Check your settings & make sure everything's right.
