There is one leeetle thing they forgot to do 
If you poke areound in some of the source code for the nvidia kernel driver, you will notice that AGP 4x and fast-writes are OFF by default, the only way to enable them is by changing the option in the source code and recompiling the drivers i doubt the mandrake-ified kernel binary drivers have these options enables as they are labled to hang some systems.
I get much better results with these options on and i haven't had any stability problems.
