How to get more gains in fishing than just the GGS ones?

The skill is in the mid-50's and I've tried staying in one spot, moving 20
or 30 steps every 10-15 minutes, and recalling to other servers and going to
shore spots on them. I'm limited to one gain about every two hours or so
which is the ggs rate. 8x8 isn't an option since a fisher below 65 can't
succeed catching anything in deep water.

If I didn't already have so much time into it I'd chuck fishing again for
the same reason I've chucked it the last few times. To much playtime wasted
per gain.

What's the trick?

My favorite is the shallow water off Serpent's Holds. If you have UOM
you can see the huge brown shallow water area. It is so big you can
drift E-W and 8x8 in it.

The other technique is server lines. They are all considered shallow
water so you can gain there and 8x8 all the way to GM.

The server line is allowing gains and fish. Never knew it was considered
shallow waster. Thanks! :)

Got the skill to 65.1 and still can't catch anything in deep water. Anyone
know what the actual minimum skill needed is? Stratic's 65.0 is clearly
wrong.

It's probably like the 70 magery listed for entering Wind actually being
72, but I don't know what it actually is.

Well I went fishing at 65 and moved in and out of shallow water. I gained
every time I went back into shallow water. I had another person doing 8*8
though so may be that played some part. But any how I took it to gm doing
just that.
