I have an IC7 MB and 2 Maxtor Diamondmax HDs which I want to convert to SATA and use in a RAID 0.

Abit touts there own brand of converter but good luck finding them for sale. I've been looking on and off for months (in canada).

Does anyone know of an alternative that they know will work? Any performance difference?

Thanks!

The ABIT Serillel IDE adapter is available from <A HREF="http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProduct.asp?description=13-999-402&depa=1" target="_new">newegg.com</A>. The <A HREF="http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProduct.asp?description=22-999-111&depa=1" target="_new">HighPoint</A> one is $5 cheaper though.

Not quite but your right they aren't cheap.

I know I can get the Highpoint ones in Canada. Does anyone know if those work as well? Anything I miss our on by getting those over the Abit ones?

I'm still looking for an answer to this.

Are the Highpoint Seriel adapters (turning an ATA133 HD into a SATA HD) compatible with the Abit IC7 MB, and is there any difference in using the Highpoint instead of the Abit Serillel 2 adapters (which I can't seem to get)

Only the Serillel2 is garunteed to work. People had problems with the Serillel1, and I'm not certain on the Highpoint adapters. If you have IDE drives, your best alternative is to BUY a PCI IDE RAID adapter card for as little as $25.
