I am close to buying a condo for summer use. Total size is about 1150
ft^2. My music room at home is about 400 ft^2 -- 15.5x25.5. In it I
run a pair of Apogee Divas driven off a pair of Classe stereo amps. I
need something small that will give me comparable (it could never be
equal) sound in a small space. It also has to be small enough to lock
in a closet if we decide to rent the place. Any ideas?

If you like the planar sound, I'd suggest the smallest Magnepans (the
MMGs) about $500 a pair (www.magnepan.com). You can hang them from the
ceiling or wall if you like. For an amp any decent integrated will do,
or the Adcom separates work well. If you're REALLY thinking small, I've
heard good things about the Monsoon speakers, also planar.
