I can't destroy these temp files

Hi

Doing a disk cleanup as i have done many times before.
In the Temp Internet files Folder there are 625Mb of stuff.
Normally these would wipe in maybe 30 seconds'but the progress bar does'nt move beyond 2 bars.

I have deleted the files manually and emptied my recycle bin and rebooted and these files are back in the temp files folder if i do another disc cleanup.

How is this and how do i get my 625Mb space back?
