I am standing on the porch of a vender. I want to buy an item. He says "If
you want to buy an item just say so. I've tried everything I can think of
but can't buy anything. I have the money in my backpack.

Thanks guys, you saved my butt again. My problem was a combination of
spellint (vender vice vendor) and having the option set so I needed to press
shift for the contex menu.

Works fine now, I bought a lot of stuff.

Anyone know of a vendor that sells the best female armor on Baja (my
strength is 70)?

Make sure you're within 1-2 tiles of the vendor then say "buy" (or "vendor
buy" is how I have my F2 macro key set). A targeting cursor should come
up letting you select an item to buy.

Do I open his backpack first? I can get the price of the items but can't buy
them. I have tried "buy" and "vender buy", no targeting cursor - maybe I
have BO.

Yes, you'd want the pack open first so you can target what you want.

Basically how I shop vendors is to walk down the road (usually the best PC
vendors are along various roads) and dbl-click on the vendors that seem
interesting. If I see something that I like, I walk over to that vendor
and hit my F2 macro key which I have set to say "vendor buy" (note the
spelling - maybe that matters I don't know). Then I target the item I
want, confirm it on the next screen and that's it.

It's possible that you can shift-click on PC vendors just like NPC vendors
to bring up a menu. I haven't tried that.

Bingo you found the problem! Spelling! It is Vendor not Vender. Alternatly
you can also open the vendors backpack and find something you want to buy
click once on it and select the BUY option that will appear (ie, context
menu)

Hope that helps!

Another command worth a macro is vendor view
which will open all the vendors packs within
range - good in the malls :)

If it's leather armor you're looking for, there's a vendor off
the north most corner of Empath Abbey, stocked by a Legendary
Tailor. Very reasonable prices. I've also had good luck along
the west wall of Trinsic.

You can get what you want in Luna, and near any moongate, but you
pay the premium pricing there. I want a complete suit for 5K,
and can't understand how anyone can ask some of the prices I've
seen.
