Dll removal. . help plz

hi guys..
am running windows 7 32 bit version. . how ever, a safeboxshell.dll file is stuck in my program files. . when ever i try to delete it, it says "can not delete because the file is open in windows explorer. . ". . i have tried the safe mode too, but still was not able to delete it. . this dll file is of bit defender antivirus which i deleted rather than uninstalling it . . plz help me out to delete this dll file. . .
